Back to Basics with CERES: A Revolutionary Single-Handed Watch

The “revolution” promoted by the new wristwatch from Canada upstart CERES is primarily in reference to the watch’s solitary hand. Analogue timepieces normally incorporate two hands on the watch-face and CERES is doubling down on the minimalist approach by reducing the number of hands to one (minimalism perhaps being the one arena where to “double down” means to take away). Are they the first to do such a thing? Probably not. Hence, “revolutionary” might be just a tad of an overstatement. Still, it’s a nice looking no-frills timepiece that harkens back to an era where a sharp and dependable watch could surely make the man.

CERES likes to keep things clean and simple and so their product has an overt everything-that-meets-the-eye quality to it. There’s no underlying digital gimmickry at play, just good old minute and hour markers and a solitary hand revolving twice daily. The watch uses stainless steel for the case, a brass dial, Miyota 2035 Quartz movement, and a top-grain 4mm leather strap to reinforce a message of elegant straightforwardness.

CERES is currently on Kickstarter and about halfway to their goal. Included on the page is a chart detailing how to use a single-handed watch, but let’s be honest if you need a chart to figure it out you’re probably not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Nevertheless, it is a nice looking watch so perhaps when paired with good looks it can make up for your complete lack of common sense. However, if you don’t have good looks and you also needed a chart to figure out how an analogue watch works, there’s really just no hope for you and no accessory is going to change that. Watcheswarm.com Review: This Rolex Replica Is Double Trouble

Watcheswarm.com Review
Watcheswarm.com Review
This Watcheswarm.com review has nothing that could warm your heart, just so you know. After ordering and of course, receiving a Rolex replica from these guys, I realized that it was double trouble. Honestly, I can't really remember if this sort of thing happened before or not, but it certainly is a catastrophe. Well… horologically speaking, obviously.

Quality: Are These Watches Any Good?

Unfortunately, I can't really tell if this Rolex replica is indeed a good watch because that's how I got it. I can only assume it broke during shipping because I can't imagine them being such lowlifes and sending it broken to small pieces.
The thing is, this Rolex Daytona replica really took a beating. I see that not only the crystal is crushed, but the bracelet is damaged as well. I see that the pin couldn't stand it anymore and snapped (pun intended).
I can also tell you that the inscriptions on the bezel are not the best and that it feels a little bit light, but not alarmingly so. Unfortunately, I can't say much about the functionality, except that it has an automatic movement inside.
Here's to the passion and the unbridled enthusiasm that their warehouse employees display when shipping the items!
And before I forget, you might wonder why this Rolex replica is double trouble. Well, it's not actually what I ordered. I did order a two tone Rolex Daytona replica, but without the bling and if you look at the hour marks (the 7 o'clock is visible), you'll see how serious these guys are about a job done right.

The Site: Usability and Design

The homepage looks pleasant, but be aware, all those nice pictures, including the banners, feature genuine timepieces. And I find their fondness of Longines a bit odd, since they're not really the best-selling replicas out there.
Anyway, besides the Rolex replica collection, they have another 20 brands available, so variety is not that great, but they do cover the big ones.
Pictures are horrible, not giving away much, but they seem to be their own, judging from the watermark. I don't like the fact that there's no harmony between them, meaning the watches are photographed in all kinds of different positions, over different backgrounds. Having some sort of conformity would undoubtedly add some professionalism.
I paid $199 for this Rolex Daytona replica, so I'd say prices are a little high for what they actually offer (and how).

Service: Is Their Staff Any Good?

Their warehouse staff is obviously incompetent, so I'll only speak here about their customer care.
First off, they advertise some sort of live chat, but it' nowhere to be found, so we had to interact through emails. This is always slower, but they respond pretty fast.

Shipping: Is It Fast and Reliable?

Shipping was free and I received the Rolex replica in less than two weeks, which is actually not bad.

Return Policy: Is It Reasonable?

They don't provide a time frame, which is really shady, they could always say something like “you had only one day to inform us about that issue”.
Fortunately, I sent them an email right away, pictures attached and everything, so they had nothing left to do than giving me a refund.

The Bottom Line

Summing up this Watcheswarm.com review, it's safe to say that there are far better places to shop for a Rolex replica. Prices are on the high side, but quality and professionalism are not really that great.
